Description

A presentation on clinical and histopathological changes induced by chronic khat (miraa) chewing among male volunteers in Eldoret and Meru towns. A brief literature review will also be presented.


Objectives

By the end of the session, participants should be able;
·        To understand the potential of khat chewing to induce oral mucosal changes
·        To understand the general clinical features of khat induced oral lesions
·        To appreciate the histological features seen in khat induced oral mucosal lesions
·        To critique and freely discuss the findings of the study and evidence from the literature
