Description

 Implant dentistry is a very successful treatment modality in a wide
variety of applications. Nonetheless, difficulties and complications are
occasionally encountered at all phases of implant therapy – treatment
planning, surgery, restoration and maintenance. Complications range from
trivial to tragic, from rare to common. Although all complications
cannot be prevented, the risks of their occurrence and their long-term
impact can certainly be minimized with proper preventive and management
strategies. The anterior zone presents special challenges that must be
carefully considered. This lecture will focus on the timely diagnosis,
effective management and preventive strategies designed to make implant
dentistry in the anterior zone an enjoyable and lasting experience for
both the clinician and the patient.

Objectives

* to review challenges of implant treatment in the anterior zone;
* to highlight possible negative treatment outcomes in the anterior
zone;

* to explore their prevention and effective management.
