Description

This brief workshop will make successful participants confident in their application of basic life support (BLS) knowledge and skills on in different environments and settings. Participants are expected to be able to identify patients with cardiopulmonary compromise or collapse and to take appropriate measures to activate emergency services and to support the patient using the skills learned in this course.


Objectives

  1. How to assess a situation associated with patient collapse, identify dangers and call for help
  2. To clarify the initial of basic life support in the pediatric and the adult age groups
  3. To review activation of emergency services
  4. To evaluate and manage the airway (airway opening techniques)
  5. To evaluate and manage breathing (Ambu bag + facemask-assisted ventilation techniques)
  6. To evaluate and manage the circulation (chest compression techniques)
  7. Procedures and risks in use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  8. To evaluate and manage obstructed airway (obstructed airway management techniques)
