Description
This hands-on workshop provides participants with practical and advanced knowledge in the assessment and management of pleural diseases and the use of advanced bronchoscopy techniques. The session will cover contemporary approaches to pleural procedures, diagnostic strategies, bronchoscopy indications, procedural techniques, patient safety, and interpretation of findings. Through expert-led presentations, demonstrations, case discussions, and practical learning, participants will strengthen their confidence in applying these techniques in clinical practice.
Objectives
By the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:
Describe the clinical assessment and diagnostic approach to common pleural diseases.
Explain the indications, contraindications, and safety considerations for common pleural procedures.
Demonstrate an understanding of appropriate techniques for pleural aspiration, chest drain insertion, and other pleural interventions.
Describe the indications and applications of advanced bronchoscopy in the diagnosis and management of respiratory diseases.
Interpret common bronchoscopic findings and relate them to clinical presentation and imaging.
Discuss the role of advanced bronchoscopic techniques in the diagnosis of lung cancer and other complex pulmonary conditions.
Apply principles of infection prevention, patient safety, and complication management during pleural and bronchoscopic procedures.
Integrate current evidence and multidisciplinary approaches into the management of patients requiring advanced pleural and bronchoscopic care.
