Description

Oral health needs of specific marginalized population subgroups are a very important aspect of equality in health care. These groups often suffer from difficulty in finding dental care access, specialized dental providers or the financial means to seek dental care. Oral health community programs offer a means to reach out to these individuals providing the opportunity to work with many interdisciplinary teams and provide preventive interventions and advice. through working within an interprofessional setting. Through these working groups and organizations, we seek to reduce the inequalities and provide the needed oral health they deserve.

Objectives

1-Understand the needs of elderly population with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in isolated communities and how to provide them with oral health care. 2- To introduce the Community Based Dental Education program that helps to develop strong community partnerships to serve oral health needs.

Presenters
