He is a holder of MBChB and M.Med (Anaesth) from University of Nairobi. He obtained his PhD from Kenyatta University after writing a thesis titled ‘ Hemodilution and coagulation’. He has done research on platelet functions, Thrombin generation, thromboelastography. He is currently a PI in research on Platelet functions and biomarkers in HIV associated ischemic stroke in Kenya

He is a holder of MbchB, M.Med(Internal Med) from University of Nairobi; Msc (haematology) Royal Hammersmith Hospital and was awarded Fellowship of Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in haematology. He is a consultant physician and haemato-onologist with over 30 years’ experience specialising in treating blood cancers and disorders. He is the founder chairman of Kenya Society on Haemostasis (KSTH).
