Description

International Cancer Instituteâ??s Preceptorship Courses aim to leverage the expertise of its Faculty to help clinicians understand best practices in the diagnosis and management of conditions encountered in the clinical setting in sub-Saharan Africa.

Objectives

At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to: 1. Recognize the global burden of cervical cancer and compare its incidence in more and less developed regions 2. describe the epidemiology, etiology, and methods of prevention (including the role of HPV) of cervical cancer and management of pre-malignant lesions. 3. recognize the role of pathological diagnosis and staging procedures/studies-including diagnostic and radiological procedures for cervical cancer 4. To understand the role of surgery in the management of cervical cancer 5. To understand the role of radiotherapy in the management of cervical cancer 6. Appreciate the Management of locally advanced cervical cancer 7. appreciate the role of systemic therapies, including antiangiogenic therapy in cervical cancer treatment as part of the standard of care treatment protocols 8. recall the goals and standard of care in the management of metastatic cervical cancer. 9. understand the role of Palliative, supportive, and survivorship care in cervical cancer management 10. To discuss clinical cases between faculty and participants
