Description
The workshop targets participants attending the medical education conference to be hosted by Maseno University. The workshop will train participants on simulation in clinical training. The modified ACLS workshop will be a half day workshop serving as a refresher training on advanced patient resuscitation. The two sessions will be hosted at the Jootrh simulation center.
Objectives
To implement a simulation based medical education workshop facilitated by MUSOM, JOOTRH and NU faculty.
To implement a modified ACLS workshop for medical faculty that can then be adopted for use for training local medical students and staff.
To conduct a 2-day conference on medical education pedagogy including curriculum development, research, learner assessment and teaching tools.
To advance the ongoing partnership between Northwestern center for global health education (CGHE) and Maseno University (MU) faculty in Kisumu, Kenya working at JOOTRH. This simulation project will be the third collaboration in this partnership for interdisciplinary faculty development in medical education.
